Costuming this show was a unique experience because it was performed on the low-flying trapeze. The costumes had to be comfortable and allow the actors a full range of motion. Leggings provided the most flexibility for the pants, but I wanted to do something different for the top. The play travels through time so I wanted to choose a top that has withstood the test of time; when creating the mood board, I came across old and modern versions of corsets. Creating an athletic version of a corset was definitely a challenge, but I put the pieces together without boning and with elastic strips instead of grommets and ties. Many of the actors played different parts so I made crossover dance skirts for easy on/off transitions.
